Prince of Prints

(Shirt: American Apparel, Glasses: Vintage, Shorts: H&M, Boots: Juan's)

It's been a rough couple of weeks, and I've been dealing with a lot of stuff, but I'm glad to say that it's all figured out (for the most part), and I'm back up and running again. Picked up these shorts today, and I feel like they are the perfect representation of how I feel after these 2 weeks: bright and full of life.

This look is so simple, and easily became my favorite thus far for summer. These shorts are so comfy...they kind of feel (and look like) silk boxers...minus the awkwardness that boxers have. They're short...but whatever. I like short shorts.

206 N. Shields

Button up: Ralph Lauren, Polka Dot Tee: Forever XI, Trousers: Levis, Hat: Pendelton, Bag: American Apparel, Bracelet: Scott Osterbind

I've been in Richmond for nearly 6 years, and I realized that I've never been to Shields Market before. So yesterday, Jc and I decided to visit Shields and take a look around. As soon as we approached the market, I knew that I was going to love it. Shields Market doesn't seem like a real place to me..like something on a movie set. It's like a little country store, grocery store, deli, and everything in between...it's perfect.

We picked up a few sodas and sat outside of the market and enjoyed the somewhat nice weather. It was nice to get away from the VCU area for a bit, and explore something new. Although Shields is only a 5 min drive from my house, it felt as if it was millions of miles away because it so tranquil, laid back, and was exactly what I needed after such a busy week(end).

Petal Pusher

(Shirt, Socks, Pants: American Apparel)

Unusually chilly today, so I treated myself to one of my favorite hot Starbucks drinks: White Chocolate Mocha. Besides hot chocolate, it's my go-to drink because I'm too much of a chicken to try anything else, and I don't want to be that asshole in line taking forever to order because I'm so indecisive. So, safe is what I am when it comes to drinks, but what's not safe is this ridiculously incredible, amazing, beautiful, luxurious (you get the point) shirt we just got in at work yesterday. This is the second day in a row that I've worn it. It's everything I've been looking for in a floral shirt. My life is now complete....

except now I need a pair of floral print pants to wear with this shirt so I can look like a lunatic...or a Golden Girl.

Après

(Shirt, Jeans, and Belt: American Apparel)

After work, hence, all the AA. I look tired or in pain from these tight jeans. I have such a love/hate relationship with them...some days they're perfect, then some days...not so much.

Neon Hallway

(Bag: Target, Sweater & Boots: Vintage, Jeans: American Apparel)

Took some photos in one of the hallways in my house. I never really realized how good of a space it actually is, and the lighting isn't all that bad either. I got this knockoff of the Cambridge bag last week from Target (of all places!), and I've been obsessed with it since. This neon baby definitely brightens my day everyday that I carry it. My best friend bought it for me as a gift to cheer me up because I've been hang a pretty tough few weeks (hence why I haven't updated), so this bag will forever have some sentimental value associated with it.

On Monument Ave.

I feel like I talk about the weather so much, since it has so much to do with how we dress (and since Richmond has had the most inconsistent winter ever), it's greatly affected my clothing choices this season.  I'm really sick of this...I'm sick of winter. Today it was only 40 degrees, snowed while I was asleep this morning, and I nearly froze my ass off in my apartment because my space heater is on it's last leg.
But, I did get a chance to take some pictures. I took the below pictures on Monument Avenue, a really nice street in historic RVA. If you ever get the chance, you should take some photos there as well. There's a ton of statues from "Confederate Heroes" lined along Monument (Those "heroes" had slaves, so they're no heroes of mine).  Nonetheless, still some good shit to look at.

P.S. Please disregard the bleach stain on my scarf. I don't know how this happened!

Fancy Feast

(Chiffon Button Up, Socks: American Apparel, Creepers, Shorts: Thrifted, Hat: Wal Mart, Pouch: DIY)

So I've been totally inspired by Givenchy Men's AW 2012, cats, neon, and activewear for the past month.  I used to be disgusted by neon, but seeing all of the cool spring and summer trends incorporated neon so well, has warmed my cold heart to a warm neon mush. And Tisci's fucking ah-may-zing AW collection for Givenchy has made it okay for me to wear baseball caps again. Of course none of my outfits are truly complete with a touch of wimsy...this time, it's that purrrrrfect cat shirt I previewed a few posts ago.  I'm so ready for spring.

I kind of look like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.  I'm okay with that.
